WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM A PACK OF FERAL DOGS?

Nature is not pretty, nor forgiving. This is a great video showcasing the sophistication a pack of dogs has when they need to hunt to survive. Working stock dogs have been bred with hunting and gathering instincts for many years.

Dogs in the wild do not get fed without working for their food. Similarly, I use their meals to reward their desire to learn. Even as pups, as young as 8 weeks I will start to build focus and a desire to learn by making them offer a desired behavior before they get fed. Something as simple as sitting and making eye contact with me to get fed is beneficial. They are connecting me with their food. In their brain I am part of their survival.
